Mapping and GIS
The Planning and Development Department maintains the Town's Geographic Information System (GIS). This includes a dataset inventory of the Town’s infrastructure assets and physical attributes. In addition, the Planning and Development Department provides geographic data, mapping, and related services to Town departments, the public, and various Town boards, commissions, and committees. Please contact Town staff if you would like to request a GIS dataset or mapping product.
Town of Nags Head ArcGIS Online Portal - The Town maintains an online portal for the public to view Town related GIS data. This portal is maintained through ESRI's ArcGIS Online Platform. (This site is temporarily down due to a technical issue. Thank you for your patience!)
Dare County GIS Portal - Dare County also maintains a GIS portal which includes tax parcel data as well as other parcel-specific information.

North Carolina Division of Coastal Management - Coastal Maps and Data - This includes an interactive map showing oceanfront shorelines and setback measurements which are used for the issuance of CAMA Minor Permits.
North Carolina Floodplain Mapping Program - This includes an interactive map depicting the existing and proposed flood insurance rate maps (FIRM) for Dare County and Nags Head.
NC One Map - Managed by the State of North Carolina Center for Geographic Information and Analysis, this site provides a clearinghouse of GIS data for the state including Dare County and Nags Head.
Coastal Resilience Mapping Portal - Developed by the Nature Conservancy in partnership with several regional government and academic organizations, this portal allows users to visualize projected impacts of flooding and sea level rise and provides several other coastal management tools useful for coastal planning in Northeastern North Carolina.
